Where do I play baduk? |
|
To use the Dash baduk service, the client should be downloaded and installed. Once you have clicked "download" on our home page and have read the instructions, you can install the client when the message window appears. After installation, double click on the newly created "DashBaduk" icon, select menu and enter the game room as the client program is executed. |

What does right click do? |
|
Microsoft's Windows system fundamentally supports right click in any kind of program. The method of using right click in Dash Baduk program is easy. First of all, place the cursor on the opponent's ID and right click. Then such pop-up menus as "match request" and "1:1 chat" will appear and enable game requests, chat and messages. Note that double left click will automatically request a game from the opponent. |

How do I change my personal information? |
|
ID, name and rating cannot be altered freely. However, user information such as password or e-mail address can be altered using the "config" menu at the top of the waiting room. If you still want to alter personal information (rating, password, ID etc) that cannot be changed via the "config" menu, please fill out name, password and ID, stating what you want to alter and why, and it will be dealt with.
Is personal information shown to others as well? When you click your own "my info" button in the waiting room menu, personal information such as e-mail address and contact numbers are shown. But when you click another player's ID, only his records are viewed, but not his personal information. |

What happens when an opponent escapes in the middle of game? |
|
Our current service does not allow temporary escapes from the game room. There is "pause" button, but if the opponent does not agree, then you cannot exit. And to exit on purpose, you have to switch off your computer. If the opponent does escape the game room without your consent, please page the master. The web master is always on stand by (use the "master" button, then the 1:1 chat and "dash 911" buttons). The master will make a judgement and resolve the problem after investigating the situation. Unavoidable disconnections and intentional disconnections cannot be technically distinguished. When the judgement request arrives, the master examines the situation and the state of the game. If the disconnected opponent does not attempt to reconnect within 5 minutes and if that player is at a disadvantage, then the one remaining in the game room will be declared the winner. |

How do I use an avatar? |
|
If an avatar is selected when you register, you can share fun chats with your opponent by using avatar animations with function keys ranged from F1 (greeting) to F10 (farewell). Also, if you would like to alter the contents of the greetings, press "config" in the waiting room menu or click the "greeting" button in the game room menu. Then you can change your avatar greetings. |

What do I do if I forget either my ID or password? |
|
If you have been not connected to Dash for a long while and have entered the wrong password, then you cannot log in to the baduk program. ID and password of Dash Baduk are case-sensitive. If ID or password have been incorrectly set up during registration, please refer to the "password lookup" menu of homepage. If you cannot log in even though your password is correct, then you might have been reported as a bad user and have had your ID suspended. You can view the list of members whose ID are suspended from the "escapees" menu of homepage. If your suspension was caused by unavoidable problems, such as computer difficulties, please send mail to the master, then he will check and answer it. |

Can I change my ID or rating? |
|
According to our general rule, it is not possible to alter your ID or rating. But if you have very pressing reasons to alter your ID, please send your request by e-mail, and then we will examine your grounds for alteration. Alterations are made every Tuesday morning when server maintenance is carried out.
Rating is automatically calculated in accordance with changes to your rating points. ID and rating affect the records of other members, so it is very difficult to make alterations. And in the case of ID alteration, deletion of your current ID will erase all existing records connected with that ID. In other words, the data of all Dash members have to be deleted and reset. |

What are ratings points? |
|
Dash baduk ratings points are designed to represent your rank objectively, from amateur 7 dan to 18 gup. A rank is created when a newly registered member has had 20 or more games in the rating lounge, using each opponent's rating and the rating you entered when registering as a member, as the bases for the calculations.
"K.D." indicates a new member who has not yet had 20 matches, whose rank has not yet been verified by the Dash Baduk rating system. When more than 20 games have been completed after registration, your rank will be marked either as gup or dan and will be regarded as your official Dash rank.

The game is adjourned due to disconnection. What should I do?

If even a single player is left in the waiting room, request judgement from the master. The master will assess the situation and wait for the escaped player for approximately 5 minutes. After that he will deliver a judgement. If for some reason a judgment request could not be made to the master in the game room, there are 2 ways to conclude the game. |

(Example 1) Continue adjourned game.
First, mark the opponent as a friend. Then, enter "adjourned game" in the memo and select "alarm." When the other player connects, you will be automatically notified of his arrival. Re-negotiate the game to the same conditions as the adjourned game. Then, before making a move after installation of the game room, call for the adjourned game by clicking "continue" on the chat window screen. Procedure: Request game and negotiate it to the same conditions as the game you wish to continue =>install room=> Renegotiate under the same conditions a) room installation a) click "continue" before making a move a) enter your ID from GIBO search window a) choose GIBO you are about to page from the list screen a) Select paging order => Click "confirm"

(Example 2) Request master's judgment.
If your opponent escaped the room without consent, please report him as a bad user to "dash 911"; you can also request game judgment at the same time. Game judgments are made by the master through "dash 911" each morning (except holidays). Of course, if a false report is made, the reporter will be treated as a bad user for dishonoring his opponent.

How
do I continue adjourned game? |
|
When there
is adjourned GIBO, adjourned games are only left
in GIBO list and there will be no disadvantage to
the user. If you want to continue with adjourned
games, re-negotiate the game to the same condition
with previously adjourned game when adjourned player
is connected to Dash, (after registering as my friend,
write "adjourned game" on memo and select
"alarm" function, then the opponent's
connection will be automatically notified.). Before
making a move after installation of game room, call
for adjourned game by a click "continue"
on the chat window screen, then you can finish adjourned
game. |
